SSC JE 2019 Exam Pattern
Check SSC (JE) Paper 1st and Paper 2nd Examination Pattern for 2019 Exams. Staff Selection Commission (SSC) decided to conducts SSC-JE examination on two phases. Paper 1 will be objective type and Paper 2 will be descriptive type. The objective paper will comprise four sections asGeneral Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, English, Quantitative Aptitude and paper 1 have weightage of 150 Marks and Paper 2 has weightage of 50 Marks.
SSC JE Exam Pattern 2019
SSC JE Exam has 2 stages:
- Written test
- Interview
Marking: SSC JE 2019 examination
- Written test carries 500 marks.
- Interview carries 100 marks.
Negative Marking:
- The SSE-JE exam will have Negative Marking of 25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper 1(as it is an objective type exam)
- There is no negative marking in paper 2 (as it is a conventional essay type written exam).

Note I: Paper 1st and Paper 3rd for General Engineering, the candidate will be required to attempt only one part i.e. Part A or Part B or Part C as per option given in the application form by the candidate.e. In other words the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil), Junior Engineer(Quantity Surveying & Contract) should attempt Part A (Civil & Structural) of Paper-I and Paper-II and the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical) should attempt Part-B (Electrical) and the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Mechanical) should attempt Part C (Mechanical) of Paper-I and Paper II failing which he/she would be awarded zero marks.
Paper II: Conventional Type
- Paper-II of SSC JE 2019 will be of conventional type carrying total 300 marks.
- The candidates will have to choose subjects/sections as per their area of interest in this paper.
- There will be three subjects – Civil & Structural or Electrical or Mechanical Engineering in Paper-II.The candidates will have to appear for only one.
